Fasting Month and Raya Holiday!!!

Fasting Month is a very interesting month for students in KMK, especially for those who did not fast. I still remember the first day of "Bulan Ramadhan" in KMK... Everyone is wondering whether the cafe will be opened or not and whether we have to be fasting along with muslim? The first day of school after holiday, only cafe Admin opened. During break time at 1 o'clock, everyone were rushing to the little cafe. After a tiring long queqe for nasi ayam, i was told that the rice is fully sold and I have to wait for 10 more minutes for the rice to be cooked. When i finally get my rice, it iwas already 45 minutes ago. It only left me about 10 minutes to finish my rice and rush for lecturer lesson. Well, the first day is suck. But luckily the day after is much more better. At least I do not have to wait until almost an hour just to get my food. Because of this, I already feel very gratefull.

After experienced few fasting weeks, I have learn more about the culture of muslim about fasting. And was shocked to realise how important fasting meant to muslim. Those who did not fast is considered as"berdosa" and the word is kind of serious. I actually feel respect for those who fast. Really, I really can't imagine din't even taste a drop of water for about half a day, for me, surely fainted by the end of the fasting month.

The cool things in these fasting days is the Bazar. At first, I have totally no idea what is it! After being explained by my friends, finally understand Bazar is not pasar.... which I get confused in the beginning. Hehe...Although it is kind of small if compared to the Bazar outside, but students still loves it as it is the only chance to taste something different from what we ate for about 5 months. Among the foods, the one I liked the best is 'nasi ekonomi' and different kinds of 'kuih'.
Raya holiday, one week holiday for me to go back my long-missed home. More free time to catch up my homework and my study. Although most of the time at home is spent on computer, televisyen and bed.... And some of the time spent on outing with friends and family. Hopefully I can get my homework done during holiday....
That is all about what I feel about fasting month in KMK and Raya holiday..
Thanks for your reading..... muackzz!!

Merdeka and What It Means to Me

"Merdeka", a word that represent independence of Malaysia. But for me, 'Merdeka' is a good opportunity to spent time with friends and family.

27 August, I celebrate Merdeka with all KMK's students in "dataran pelajar". Although it was raining that night. But the cold temperature did not cool down our spirit to celebrate the memory day of Malaysia. The alley was crowded by students in green and orange. Everyone around were chit-chatting, waiting for the ceremony to begins. When the ceremony started, some of the student, despite the rain, go to the centre of 'dataran pelajar' in order to get a better view of the performances by our students. Even me, who initially bored, also feel alive with the high spirits around. There was singing, dancing and many others interesting performances prepared by KMK's students few weeks ago. I must admit that it feels good to gather around with friends after a long day of lessons. At last, the night ends beautifully with colourful fire-works.

'Merdeka' day also providing a good opportunity for me to back home. I sent the day celebrating 'Merdeka' with my aunt and her family. My cousin was joining a Merdeka's day colouring competition. The location is at Youth Park-station 3. So, that means we have to climb up there! It is an tiring but interesting experience. The conmpetition consumed 1 and half an hour. After waiting for about 30 mintues, the results finally came out, and my cousin sucessfully won consolation prize. But, my 5 years old cousin somehow believe that he get second prize. Anyway, in order not to hurt his feeling, nobody recorect him.

That is what merdeka means to me...
